Project's description

The Big Idea : A Yemeni coffee house designed to make the origin of coffee as present as the coffee itself.

Client Aspiration : Qamaria came to us with a brand rooted in the history of Yemeni coffee culture - one of the oldest coffee traditions in the world. They wanted a space that didn’t just serve coffee but told its story, creating an environment where guests could feel the cultural weight behind every cup.

Our Guidance : We organized the space around two distinct experiences - the open communal floor for everyday work and gathering, and an elevated alcove anchored by arched niches, warm lighting, and traditional textiles for a more intimate, ceremonial feel. The dark exposed structure above reads as a bold counterpoint to the warmth below, grounding the space without competing with its cultural narrative. Kilim pillows, olive trees, woven pendants, and typography drawn directly from Yemeni coffee history turn every surface into part of the story. The result is a space that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted - a coffee house that knows exactly where it comes from.
